Green Beans with a Tinge of Orange

I find that side dishes do not have to be complicated.  In fact, quite often, as a counterbalance to a more intricate recipe, something simple is better.  One star in a meal is enough.  That is why, I like this recipe.   You  could choose another vegetable if you would like.  I can see this with zucchini, peas, cauliflower, broccoli or even a sweet potato or carrots.  Let your imagination and cravings make the decision.

Green Beans in Orange Sauce

8 ounces of frozen green beans
1 tablespoon olive oil
1-1/2 teaspoons cider vinegar
1 tablespoon orange juice  (next time, I would use, orange zest and the juice of the entire orange)
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Place beans in a medium bowl and cook in microwave on high for two minutes.

Meanwhile, in a small bowl, whisk the oil, vinegar,orange  juice and seasonings until blended.  Heat in microwave for 1 minute until warm.

 Pour dressing over beans in a serving bowl and enjoy.
